The Calm After the Storm

14 Apr

After going through a traumatic experience, it is natural to be a little frightened of the unknown.  “What has just happened to me?”,  you ask yourself.

It is during this period, that you must take the time to rest and rejuvenate your mind, your body and soul.  You have been  battered and banged up emotionally, physically as well as spiritually.  It can feel like you have literally stepped out of a tornado.

LOST…Where do I go from here??

At first, you claw your way back  to solid ground.  In trying to get your bearings back,   you recognize that your compass is way off  so you try to ‘shake off’ the lost feeling  by asking,  “Where do I go from here”?  That questions is the hardest part because there are no immediate answers, and after surviving a  Battle like the one  you’ve just barely come out of, you want answers and you want them ~ NOW!

The word Patience is not even part of your vocabulary at this point.  You wonder, ‘why the waiting has to be so hard’ and   ‘how much more can a person possibly bear’?!    I know first hand that this will be one of the hardest things you will endure, aside from the Battle itself.  “Oh, Dear God why is  everything  spinning out of control? ”   This is the lowest, most vulnerable time in your life.  Right now, the only thing you can and must do, is to Be Still and PRAY.

Take this time to clear your mind of any doubts.   Reclaim the energy that was taken from you or that you gave away ~ freely.  Yes, that’s right, I said freely. Sometimes, we don’t even realize that we may have in some way, contributed to our own roadblock.    It is okay, we are only human and it is only a temporary detour.

Sush…Listen.   Hear the whisper.   Your inner voice is tapping you on the shoulder to remind you that this challenge is  just paving the way for  your personal growth.   You are being prepared for the next phase of your new life, so don’t let it get the best of you.
The Calm After the Storm is a period of self-reflection, an opportunity for spiritual insight and GROWTH.   Based on my personal experience, TAKE this time to heal.  No need to rush.  Little by little, day by day; you will notice changes in you.  Embrace them; for you are indeed becoming a stronger, much wiser,  upgraded and more up-to-date version of you.   Now Breathe and let it happen.  God always comes through ~ right on time.
