FORGIVENESS

FORGIVENESS

Such a simple word ~ yet it can be the hardest thing to do…

I have been silent for quiet some time ~ but I had some soul searching to do as my life was turned upside down by a health scare.  Nothing like facing the possibility of the end of your life to quickly put things back into perspective for you!

I NEEDED this time WARRIORS.  I needed to reflect, to process what was going on with my body.  Funny how the stillness and the quiet can be our best teacher ~ and I needed to learn, to grow, to deepen my relationship with God.  Thankfully ~ ALL IS WELL!!

I have a renewed sense of MY purpose in this world.  I will not take one moment on this earth or time spent with my loved ones for granted again.  Nor will I sit around a wonder, “Why me?”  I have been enlightened and understand  ~ the things that happen to us ~ the good and the bad ~ are for a reason.  I FINALLY understand that God IS with me on every step of my journey and with Him, I will succeed.  It does not mean that it will be easy, it means that I am a WARRIOR Child of God, that I am a SURVIVOR, and with Him, ALL things a POSSIBLE!

After putting my divorce behind me, I believed I was “HEALED.”  God had other plans for me ~ I had some lessons to learn specific to my ex-husband and others from my inner circle, my own family that had hurt and betrayed me.

~ This is my take away ~

Forgiveness will warm your heart and cool the sting of hurt, betrayal and pain.

Forgiveness takes away the power bitterness holds over you.

Forgiveness is not something we do for others ~ no ~ Forgiveness is necessary for our own well-being.

Forgiveness renews our spirit, it allows us to heal and to move on with our lives.

It takes courage to Forgive

It takes compassion to Forgive and Forgiveness starts with YOU!  You cannot forgive anyone who has harmed you without first forgiving yourself.

Forgiveness does not mean that you have to keep those negative people in your life, you just MUST let go of the hurt they have caused you.  If you hold onto the anger and the pain and  allow yourself to be a victim ~ you will NEVER move forward.

Recently, I met with my ex-husband over coffee.  It was the first time I had seen him since our last “show down” in court.  When I saw him, I realized how pointless it has been and such a waste of time and energy to harbor any anger toward him.  He is clearly the loser in this and has a high price to pay.  But that is between he and God.

The purpose of my meeting with him was to let him know that I have FORGIVEN.  I looked him in the eye and I told him how much he hurt me by walking away from my children ~ yes I said my children, because HE made the choice to abandon them by refusing any contact with my precious babies as a way to punish me for divorcing him.  But alas ~ they are happy, healthy, growing like weeds and thriving!   They are young ~ but  I have instilled the importance of Forgiveness in them and it is such a Blessing to see how resilient my children are.

It is close to 2 years now since they have heard from or seen him ~ but I let him know that I FORGIVE him.  He promised to reach out but still has not done so ~ it has now been more than 2 months since our meeting…but again, it is not for me to judge or harbor anger toward him.  Life is too short to waste on anger.  Personally, I don’t see how he can look at or live with himself  ~ knowing that he has two young children, who live less than ten minutes away and he does not participate in their lives whatsoever!!

During our meeting, he didn’t even ask about them.  Like I said, pointless…After I said my piece and listened to his lies about how broke he is (meanwhile he just bought a brand new motorcycle) I got up, hugged him and walked away.  I have not heard from him since, but I feel such a sense of freedom for FINALLY letting go and truly FORGIVING.

Forgiveness ~  it is GREAT for the SOUL!

PEACE and LOVE ~ ALWAYS!!

This is a message to the webmaster. I came to your “https://justmytwocents2.wordpress.com/2012/07/17/forgiveness/” page via Google but it was hard to find as you were not on the front page of search results. This means you are missing out on a lot of web traffic from the search engines. I have found a website which offers to dramatically increase your rankings and traffic to your website: http://venueseo.com/7-day-free-trial. I managed to get close to 1000 visitors/day using their services, you could also get lot more targeted traffic from search engines than you have now. Hope this helps 🙂 Take care.
